Yesterday I found this book:
With this sign on the front page:
And inside the book there was this explanation:
I really like this idea! I will definitely read this book and then leave it somewhere else.
And last (but not... you know...) there are even more signs of spring. On my usual running route I saw both eranthis and snowdrops, and there is this on our balcony:

Spring
There are even more signs that spring are on its way, like these daffodils for example! The combination of green and yellow is so incredibly spring ish, but the reason I buy them is because of the smell. They are a really cheap way of making a whole room smell of spring.
(and yes, I should have closed that door, and removed those scissors before taking the pic)

Spring
Of course winter is almost over, right? Well at least in my world February is the first spring month, because there is so much light suddenly! Nonetheless I started knitting a new scarf, that I had been looking at for a while.
I really like the colors, but the interesting part can only be seen when looking from the right angle:
A pattern appears, as it is knit with the shadowknitting technique. I am not quite sure yet if the pattern will be clear enuff, especially the parts where there is only one stitch that makes up the dark parts. I won't tell what it is until it is finished tho!

A new book
One of my birthday presents was "Favourite Socks" from Interweave. There are some really nice designs in there, so I had a hard time choosing which one to start with! After hours of consideration I started the Merino Lace Socks. I LOVE them so far. I don't use the circular loop method that is recommended for this project tho.

Alpine Knit Scarf
I have been knitting quite a lot on the Alpine Knit scarf, while watching the fantastic HBO series "Six Feet Under" on DVD.
I really like the middle part of the scarf, as it is much easier to memorize. I made a lot (!!) of mistakes in the lower border, and I remember having to frog and reknit parts of it, and sometimes simply ignoring the problems. It looks great now, tho.

Christmas and something about books!
I finished reading Pascal Mercier's Nachtzug nach Lissabon. It's really great, but do read it ONLY when you have time to concentrate, and time to think about it as well. Now to the fun part: pictures!! I did take some christmas pictures.
There hasn't been snow yet, but it was still very pretty, and winter ish some of the days:
And it was both pretty and rather spooky looking:
The 23rd my parents, one of my brothers and me celebrated lillejuleaften:
And the 24th we went to one one my other brothers and his family:
They have this really nice Ikea kitchen (if which I took an ugly pic):
mMmmmm æbleskiver:
