Knitting!

Look! There has been knitting! It is the Wheat-Ear Cable Yoke from Interweave Knits. I follow the pattern, but I use a different kind of yarn, much thinner, as I don't like the armor-like appearance.

Wheat flour for bread should have at least 12 % of protein, according to my fantastic breadbaking
books, but I prefer organic flour. This wasn't possible, until ... tada ... 1 week ago, when I found this:

I'm also knitting these, as I lost my other gloves in the bus a few days ago:

It starts to look a little christmas ish here:

Oooo...

... poor neglected blog! I got a book from the library *hurray*. Clare Clarke's "The Nature of Monsters". I haven't really had time to concentrate on it so far, so no verdict today.

Aaaaaa food!

I'm still waiting for books from the library. I start to think it's strange, did they change something, so that you can only get books a few times a month, some type of economising? o.O ?

Yesterday we ate the first real christmassy food. A salad of duck breast with pears, celery, almonds and pomegranate, with a dressing of gravy, ketchap manis, apple cider vinegar and pomegranate puree.
This combined with a potato gratin tasted like heaven!.

I haven't used pomegranates so much in food before, but together with some fat foot they are wonderful.

When I feel like a quick and fresh tasting dessert I often make this: Greek Yoghurt (YES, 10 percent fat, anything else is not good enuff :p ), an orange, lots of sugar and finally some chocolate sprinkled on top.

A little bit of this..

.. and a little bit of that.

I have been reading, but no good books unfortunately. I started and stopped reading two books, and then I ordered a gazillion new books from the library. It usually only takes a day or two for books to arrive at the local library, but now a week has gone and no books have arrived... PØH! There has been a lot of cooking, and some of it even tasted good! But most of the time I just ate the food, and forgot to take pictues of it first...

I did take a few pictures recently, so here they are.

First off is some sweet and sour dish. mMmmm. The recipe is taken from the magazine Mad! which I btw recommend. Really, it's good, most dishes taste ok, are not too expensive, and it's even possible to find the ingredients.

Next thing is an apple cake thingie, which I only ever make late in the evening, when I realize I don't have chocolate, but instead some semi boring apples. Butter, sugar and flour is always in my kitchen, and vupti there is a cake. I tastes good too.

The following pictures doesn't really need any explanation I guess...

I am the biggest Christmas enthusiast ever, I love all this gold and silver and the food and the cookies, and the spices and everything. So I bought a Christmas cooking book for myself. It's so good! And it has wonderful pictures in it. It combines two good things, Christmas and Camilla Plum.
