I finished the first pair of socks in my new sock book, and they turned out really pretty!
My holidays are over, unfortunately, but they were really great! One day we very suddenly decided to be all artsy, and went to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art .
I managed to take a few pictures on the way. The first showing from where I take the train to work every day:
And here's the proof that it IS spring already!
They had this really great exhibition of Cézanne and Giacometti:
They have a very nice garden too:
And last but not least (!), I made some home-made Nutella, following a recipe from Zarah Maria's supercool foodblog.

Holiday creativeness!
I started reading Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist, and read about half of it before stopping. I didn't like it, and it definitely didn't change my life, even though it said it would on the cover ;-). I do like Siri Hustvedt's the Enchantment of Lily Dahl though. She is amazing at observing and describing small everyday details, and I feel I can see and smell this small town in Minnesota.
Last monday I went to ThePerfectShop and bought a few things. I had long been planning a new quilt, something in blueish colours, so this is what I came home with:
I have been cutting out about a gazillion squares already, and now only new to cut out 100 gazillion more!
I also bought this cute scissor (I never thought I would use that word about a scissor...):
Ever since reading this blog-post from ZebraKnits I have been dreaming about something similar. I have spent hours and hours of googling through the entire (!) internet, but found nothing. So I decided I had to design it myself:

Not for the faint-hearted
Not for the vegetarian at least. I made some Ossobuco yesterday, and I even took some pictures, so here we go:
First off you have to pour yourself some white wine:
Ossobuco is basically a cows leg cut into thick slices. Cover them in flour with salt and pepper, and throw them on a frying pan:
Until they look like this:
At the same time, fry some onions and garlic in some butter or oil:
Put the meat to the onions, pour in 1 can of chopped tomatoes, white wine and stock, and let it simmer for 2 hours or so. You know its ready when the meat melts on your tongue. Put some gromolata on top.
Now to the part that really is not for the faint-hearted! As a highschool teacher I see the newest fashion trends on my students, and I am used to them wearing the most absurd clothes. I also almost accept that the 80s are back, with leggins and bangs, but I almost fainted when one of my students was wearing a giant sweater. Yes. A. GIANT. SWEATER. THEY ARE BACK! It was someting similar to this. OMF! Please please let this only be a fashionmistake by a naive teenager!

Knitting and fire and more
I made some delicious hummus a few days ago, and because i put some olive oil with paprika powder on top of it, it looked nice too, unlike the pure baby puke colour it normally has.
I finshed the shadow knit shawl, and here is what it says on the other end:
So when people see me, they think I'm just wearing a pretty shawl, when in reality I'm brainwashing their minds with subtle linux messages :)
I also started a new pair of socks (of course):
Made from another version of the Opal Hunderwasser yarn I used before.
In more serious, and less knitting or cooking related news, yesterday evening a car burned outside our window, like all over Copenhagen, and the whole of Denmark actually. I took a picture of the sad remains of that car today:

Who would have thought a shop like this existed!
I saw a small advert in the local Nørrebro og Nordvest newspaper about a shop selling fabrics close by. That I had to check out, especially as I am planning a new quilt. It said in the advert that it was hidden in a backyard, so I didn't expect much. I was surprised. It is huge, so huge, that I have to use capital letters to describe it: HUGE! When you go towards it you can see one room, and think that's it. When you enter this smallish room, it is filled with gorgeous fabrics, and it had lot's of yarn too. But then you see there is a bigger room filled with stuff too! And when you enter this, you see there are even more rooms, and they are so large they cannot be called rooms any more, a hall might be more appropriate (or possibly some other english name I don't know). It's gigantic! And it is filled with wonderful stuff in every corner, both for knitting and crocheting, but especially for sewing! It not only has yarn and fabric, but all you can only dream of, of zippers, thread, buttons... I know there are some danish readers of this blog, go check it out! And then at same time you can look at the new location of ungdomshuset
The address is (if I remember correctly):
Frederikssundsvej 88
2400 København NV
in the backyard, but you can see it from the street.
Here I am, gazing at some yarn:
and here is the yarn I bought:

What I am good at..
.. and what not!
I am really good at reading other people's blog! I read about a gazillion, and still want more!!! I am not good at leaving comments though. I kinda read blogs like books, and you dont normally write letters to the author, right? So I just wanted to say, I enjoy all your blogs, even though I rarely leave a comment!
Because I have this rather exponentially growing collection of kitchen gadgets, there was not enough space for flowers and herbs in the kitchen. This we changed by adding a shelf, I LOVE it:
Ah, and before I forget: The shadow knitting is growing:
